Out of all the restaurants we had plans for during our week in NY, Joe was most excited for this outting. We love ramen! And we always look for good ramen restaurants at every city we visit. There’s just something about it that is just so comforting with the first bite of the noodles and the slurping of broth.
We put our names down on the clipboard hanging by the front entrance. About 30-45 minutes later, we got to go inside! It is pretty small inside, with limited seating as almost all ramen places are. Anywho, as Joe and I were walking to our table, I got to snap this picture, the cooks move so fast in the cooking area! It was really sad, as we sat down, we overhead this table next to us who had 4 people but only 3 were there and the ramen guy kicked them out cuz he said you need your entire party to sit down. That sucks! cuz that group waited much longer than we did!
we started off with a few small dishes like the steamed pork bun sandwich. joe really liked this, I thought it was ok.
We also started off with the fried chicken which came on top of a bed of white rice. The fried chicken was boneless, and tasted pretty good. I actually liked this appetizer better than the steamed pork bun.
Our ramen’s came with a few slices of pork belly, boiled egg and some veggies. I really liked the miso flavored broth. The noodles were super hot and cooked perfectly. Not undercooked or overcooked. I really enjoyed my bowl but Joe LOVED his bowl! When our ramen came out looking like this, I was like wtf? i ordered extra spicy!
The spicy chili oil came in a separate little bowl and so I dunked the entire thing in my ramen bowl and mixed it around. It turned this beautiful red color. The broth had a nice heat to it. I couldn’t believe i almost burned the roof of my mouth on the noodles. But it was soooo good!
