I had a chance to dine here for August restaurant week. Woohoo for 3 courses for $35! When you walk into this place, it kinda feels like one of those old Southern estates. You’ve got those high ceilings, pillars eveywhere, but it feels like you’ve walked into someone’s living room. Behind the bar, you can see stairs leading to the second floor. I liked that the tables were situated too close together. Very classy (but not hoighty-toighty) and romantic vibe to the place. I know the dim lighting was for ambiance but my camera had a terrible time focusing.
The chilled tomato-basil soup has royal red shrimp, avocado and brioche croutons.
I had watched Masterchef and saw two chefs create a series of souffles and so I was craving one like crazy! Imagine my excitement when I saw that there was a souffle on the menu. The sweet corn souffle had jumbo lump crab and lobster nage. It was sweet and light as air!
The pan-roasted striped bass was served with tomato barigoule, truffled shoe string potatoes in white wine lemon broth.
The certified Angus beef filet was served with roasted wild mushrooms, organic new potatoes in a port wine reduction. This steak hit the spot! It was flavorful and wonderfully chewy. The bit of blue cheese on top added a distinct flavor profile.
