Harbor Seafood and Oyster Bar in New Orleans, LA

Harbor Seafood and Oyster Bar
3203 Williams Blvd
Kenner, LA

So this restaurant is adjacent to the Fisherman’s cove seafood store in Kenner, out by the airport. I’ve heard the food was good here so Joe and I came to check it out. It’s near a favorite restaurant of mine, Imperial Garden .  When we drove by there were only a handful of parking spots and we had to squeeze in between 2 huge trucks to get in.

corn chowder

we started off with a creamy shrimp and corn chowder. It was quite good. Not much of a shrimp flavor though. But still pretty good.

fried oysters

I got the special of the day, oysters wrapped in bacon and fried. It was pretty greasy but oh so sinfully delicious. I didn’t care much for the sauce that came with (some Tiger sauce). But the saltiness of the bacon really enhanced the oyster taste. Usually I’m not a fan of oysters but since these were deep fried they were nice and crispy.

soft shell crab platter

joe had the soft shell crab platter. It’s easy to see why the local residents choose to come to eateries like this over restaurants in the Quarter. The soft shell crabs were  good and plentiful and very economical.  They came with french fries and garlic bread.
